The Goldsmiths Craft and Design Council Awards took place at Goldsmiths' Hall this week. Each year the Assay Office supports it's 3D Technological Innovation award. This year it was awarded to Annabel Eley for her Carbon Coated Titanium Ring & Cuff.

The student award winner was announced as Smaranda Maria Voican from Central Saint Martins, for her “Reveal” ring. The judges felt this design was both simple and effective and beautifully presented and ultimately demonstrated how jewellery can be made more interesting because of the application of the hallmark.
The Graduate Award was awarded to Ninka Duval who studied at British Academy of Jewellery for her “Thirteen Hundred” ring. The judges felt this piece demonstrated great craftsmanship, subtlety in the use of the hallmarks alongside the design which celebrated the London hallmark.

Silversmith Angela Cork presented the awards at Make Your Mark on Tuesday 5 February 2019. She delivered a stirring account of receiving her hallmark for the first time, and how the hallmarks are "a makers signature and a lasting record of each creation". Read a transcript here.

Goldsmiths’ Fair is delighted to be bringing a selection of jewellers and silversmiths to Collect 2019. Returning for our second year, established jewellers and silversmiths will include Kayo Saito, Jean Scott Moncrieff and Adrian Hope, amongst others. They will also be showing work by recent graduates, including Callum Partridge, who was part of the Goldsmiths’ Fair graduate scheme in 2018.
