James Kydd's silver sword won the Junior Gold Award in the 3D Craft section of the Goldsmiths' Craft and Design Council.
James is now in his fifth year of The Goldsmiths Company Apprenticeship Programme. He is apprentice to his father Philip Kydd.
Philip said "James wanted to use a display mark on the piece and the London Assay Office was the obvious choice with our connection to Goldsmiths' Hall with his apprenticeship and the fact that nearly all of our "commercial " work is hallmarked in London. Likewise, the leopards heads were a deliberate design motif, and they look great with their iconic spots!"
